About Me
Klimawandel und Biodiversitätsverlust erfordern eine sozialökologische Transformation unserer Gesellschaft einschließlich der Art und Weise wie wir Land nutzen und was wir unter menschlicher Entwicklung verstehen. In meiner Forschung beschäftige ich mich mit den Interaktionen zwischen Menschen und Umwelt mit einem Fokus auf Landnutzung, menschliche Entwicklung, Biodiversität und Klimawandel. Geographisch liegt mein Fokus in Afrika, ich habe aber auch Studien auf anderen Kontinenten durchgeführt und betreut. Basierend auf räumlichen Daten, Fragebögen, Interviews, Felddaten und Experimenten versuche ich mit meiner Arbeitsgruppe die Synergien und Konflikte, die sich für verschiedene Nachhaltigkeitsziele im Bereich der Landnutzung ergeben, zu verstehen und entsprechende Rückschlüsse für Landwirtschaft, Naturschutz und Politik zu ziehen. In meiner Forschung ist mir eine enge Anbindung an politische Entscheidungen wichtig, um einen positiven Beitrag zur Nachhaltigkeits-Transformation zu leisten.
